|Path Description:||A beautiful outing with variety of terrain, hills, long views, boardwalked bog crossing at Staffordside, erratics along the shore, two river crossings. Trail passes through a Nature Conservancy of Canada protected property in Maddox Cove. Often windier, cooler and damper, than weather in St. John's|
|Attractions:||Easternmost point of North America. Cape Spear lighthouses and lighthouse museum. Berry picking. Whale watching from a high ridge. Frequent rolling fog. Picnic at North Head.|
After parking at Cape Spear, proceed up the hill and pass the two lighthouses and gift shops. The trail runs near a ridge that heads south from Cape Spear. The Trailhead is located at the southern edge of the Cape Spear National Historic Site.
|Parking & walking directions to Trailhead North:||Park in the main parking lot at Cape Spear. The trail begins at the easternmost point of North America.|

Drive to Maddox Cove. Park in Maddox Cove at the pull-off above the beach near bridge. There is an ECT parking sign.
|Parking & walking directions to Trailhead South:||Park in Maddox Cove as above. Follow the road over the bridge and turn right onto a dirt lane. Maddox Cove trailhead is a short distance along this dirt and gravel path.|
