The East Coast Trail combines a genuine wilderness experience with all the best services offered by the 32 historic communities located along the trail. One of the wonderful aspects of the Trail is that hikers, if they desire, can hike from community to community, stopping in bed & breakfasts, restaurants, and convenience stores along the way. Camping on & near the Trail
There are a number of campsites located along the East Coast Trail System.

Wilderness campsites on the Trail
The East Coast Trail has five wilderness campsites on the following paths:
The ECT path campsites are equipped with tent platforms and primitive semi-private out-house style toilets. It's a wilderness camping experience. No reservations required.
